Day V

Woke up cold. Noticed had slept under the ceiling fan. Have a bit of a cold now.

Houseowners invided me for breakfast, were quite nice. Had coffee, cereals & fruit for breakfast. Most food here is snacks and soda, so trying to take care not to eat too much.

The rest of the people arrived today. To my untrained foreign eye, most of them look alike. 'But I thought overweight bearded was indie!' 'Yeah, so did everyone else.'

Bought bus tickets for the trip from McG to SS. Problem - Greyhound doesn't accept foreign credit cards. This is frankly becoming a pain in the ass. Got a friend to help me with it. (Thanks, Doom) Must take care to buy tickets as early as possible to avoid this sort of trouble.

Got to play lots of the latest videogames. Mario Kart 2Dash, Wario Ware Inc, Super Smash Bros. Melee... well, at least they're new to me. People are getting used to actually having to talk to people they only had to type to previously. It's hard to understand the conversation when I'm not paying attention, but it'll do.

They have some trouble with organization, though. Stuff is piled up around the room (mine is stored out of the way, mom) and any pillow that stays on the sofas is pushed off to the floor and treated as a footpad. 'Oh, is this someone's?' OF COURSE IT'S SOMEONE'S, PILLOWS DON'T JUST GROW FROM LEFTOVER PRETZELS.

Managed to make enough space for the air mattress (Good thing I came a day early and managed to snag it).

Slept. (Well, what did you expect)

Now it's a new day. Geo bought a couple of pizzas for lunch, ate a slice. Updates will probably be a bit less frequent this week, since I've already complained about most of the cultural shock stuff.

Estou um pouco resfriado, mas tudo bem. O pessoal da convencao esta chegando aqui hoje. Estou moderando a comida e frutas e coisa e tal. A maior parte do tempo nos jogamos videogames. Provavelmente vou fazer menos atualizacoes ou atualizacoes menores essa semana, ja que nao estou fazendo muito turismo.

Bah. If he's in america and has a cold, why not bask in the shotgun-like wonder of Nyquil? Truely a wonder of the modern world.

...just don't plan on doing anything until you wake up from the coma it induces.
